All therapeutic journeys are unique but the steps to getting support are simple.

Once a new enquiry reaches me, depending on your stated preference, I will get back in touch with you either by phone or email. We can discuss any questions you have and a brief background can be given for me to gain an understanding of what you as a client are expecting from therapy, and what as a counsellor I can offer. In cases where I believe specialist advice would be in the client’s interest I am happy to refer them on to different support.
At the end of this call, you can either take the time to consider if you are happy to continue or sign up straight away, there is no pressure. When you start your journey with me, we agree a short contract that sets out some basic terms including the content of sessions, confidentiality, what we expect from each other and contact arrangements. My contract can be changed between us to suit the individual needs as long as we both agree on the content.
Different to some other counsellors I do not expect a client to agree to a certain amount of sessions. Your needs are met individually whether it is a one off session or every week, and most things in between.
We then embark on your journey and by mutual agreement and checking in with each other, being honest and open, we can adjust our arrangement as necessary.

My Commitment to You
Trust and mutual respect are the cornerstone of effective therapy. So I make a strong commitment to you:
- To be available to you as promised so you have regular, reliable support
- To maintain strict confidentiality in line with professional practice and the law
- To treat you as an equal, not to judge you and to provide a safe atmosphere for discussion
- To fulfil my role as promised in a professional and ethical manner
Your Commitment to Me
Mutual respect is a two way thing and for the therapy to be effective I ask you to commit to the process by:
- Being available as agreed, letting me know if you need to change a session
- Remain respectful at all times
